Created in December 2000 by Mr. Jean-Claude Tur, Caragum International has 12 employees. From the start, Mr. TUR was and still is in charge of putting up and running a strong network of agents & distributors around the world. Within the first year, the company had to subcontract the manufacturing process in order to follow up with the rapid growth of the company.
June 2001 : Caragum wanted to stop subcontracting the production of their products. They created their own laboratory in Marseilles. The company realized 1.7 millions euros turnover. The production is strictly organized according to the specification books of the products: taking into account the functionalities, characteristics and the special requirements to manufacture and distribute the final products.
2002 : Due to the rapid growth, the company has had to increase the initial capital bringing it to 20 000 €. They were able to employ a laboratory Manager. The year ended with an annual turnover of 2.3 million euros. In 2003, the company took on three more people for a total of 3 million euros.
2004 : The company has a team of 8 employees. 70 % of the turnover is done thanks to the worldwide exports. The company moves to a new "ZFU" (free trade zone) in north of Marseilles, in order to centralize all its activities & services. Mr Jean-Claude TUR leaves the company to his children; Mrs Muriel Robert and Mr Frédéric Tur; but remains very active as an export consultant. The company was twice awarded the prize "CREA 13" organized by the regional council of the south-east region.
2005 : Caragum is certified ISO 9001:2000
2006 : The company has now 12 employees and 90% of the annual turnover is done thanks to the worldwide exports.
